Nonnie's Story

Hi, my name is Nonnie, and I need your help. 6 months ago I was found under a garden shed. The wonderful angels at SFOF rescued me, which was the luckiest day of my life. I was scooped up and taken to wonderful place where my horribly infected wounds were taken care of and I was given a warm bed, food, and love. Hope was high that the injuries caused to my spine were temporary and I would someday walk again. I went through weeks of therapy and even some acupuncture (click photo bottom left). I started to feel a little better and took a few steps on my own. Everyone was very excited, including me! I got an exam at a very special animal hospital in Portland, but the news broke my heart. I was doing "spinal walking" which meant my legs were moving as a reflex only. My brain still couldn't tell my legs to move correctly. So I have accepted my fate, I am paralyzed. But I am alive, and well cared for by my foster angel mom Penny. She said she won't let anything bad happen to me ever again.

Here is where I need your help. Because I am so active (I can even climb the cat tree!) I need a special "cart" so that I don't rub my hair off and get sores. Is there maybe someone out there who could donate a cart? Or donate money toward purchasing me a cart? Please & thank you. Love, Nonnie. Oh, PS You can contact my angel at: 503 851-5377.
