Imagine losing your beloved kitty of 14 years. Then imagine that your kitty was lost out of state. The odds of this one eyed kitty finding her way home were not good,
having no collar and no microchip. But SFOF volunteers were determined to get her home. To read this heartwarming story

Sami takes a ribbon at the Emerald Cat Club Show!
Sami sure looks proud with her ribbon that she won at the Emerald Cat Club's show on November 4, 2006. Sami
has been adopted and in a new loving home.
SEPTEMBER 23, 2006 --- Pasta Dinner & Auction Fundraiser.
SFOF held their biggest fund raiser event this year at the Whittenburg in Keizer, OR. A live and silent auction was held, and
patrons dined on a delicious pasta dinner including wonderful desserts. We are pleased to say this was a hugely successful
event! See you next year!
NATIONAL HOMELESS ANIMALS DAY -- AUGUST 19th, 2006
A candlelight vigil was held for those animals in shelters who did not find homes.

As you can see, Sylvester dressed up for the event!
The fate of black & white, and black cats in this country is pretty grim, everyone goes for the "pretty" colors and they are
often overlooked. Many shelters don't even give them a chance. Anyone who owns one knows their special charms. In other countries
it is the black cats who are considered good luck, and we would like to see this happen in the states as well!
Shop For A Cause!
We are very thankful that Macy's asked us to participate in this event and for helping us to win this.

The new adoption center will be located at 980 Commercial Street SE. We are just south of the Spaghetti Warehouse!
The adoption center will have three separate kitty "suites" where cats can visit with prospective new guardians.
Cats and kittens will be allowed to run and play cage-free within the suites.
The Thrift Store will help us bring in funds needed to support the cats (medical care, food, etc.) and continue to help
our community through our spay/neuter program. Please think of us when you have donations.
Volunteers worked very hard to have our adoption center ready for kittens and cats by March 1st.
Holiday Market December 10th & 11th 2005:
Thank you to all who visited with us at Holiday Market, and adopted new kitties.
We had a record breaking weekend and adopted a total of 24 cats!
The Kitten Karnival at Petsmart in Salem was June 4th and 5th, 2005. It was a huge success! Saturday we
had face and hand painting by Kathy McCoy, popcorn, lollipop tree, bean bag toss and11 Adoptions!
Sunday we had artist Jill Stockford doing charactures of your pets, popcorn, raffle baskets and 8 more adoptions!
We enjoyed a great Saturday afternoon at the Willamette University 'Art,
Earth, and Music' event. The cats and kittens brought smiles to the students faces,
and a welcome furry hug for many. Two cats found a new home, and many expressed
interest in 'cat cuddling' in our adoption center. What an awesome day, and we can't
wait to go back next year!!!!
Salem Friends of Felines was a proud participant in the annual Doris Day Animal Foundation's Spay Day Event!
During the weekend we were able to help many families in our community with 50 low-cost Spay and Neuter Certificates.
Thank you to Petsmart and its staff!
